How can I get involved?

Many of our topics recommend specific clinical guidelines or best practices.  We encourage all health care providers to follow our recommendations.

How are health care providers represented?

There are seven membership seats dedicated to physician representatives, two of whom represent both hospitals and physicians:

  • Two physicians representing the largest hospital-based physician groups in the state submitted jointly by the Washington State Medical Association and the Washington State Hospital Association. Currently:
    • Christopher Kodama MD, MultiCare Health System
    • Robert Mecklenburg MD, Virginia Mason Medical Center
  • Two physicians representing large multispecialty clinics with 50 or more physicians, one of which is a primary care provider, submitted by the Washington State Medical Association. Currently:
    • Stuart Freed MD, Confluence Health
    • Richard Goss MD, Harborview Medical Center
  • Two physicians representing clinics with fewer than 50 physicians, one of which is a primary care provider, submitted by the Washington State Medical Association. Currently:
    • Carl Olden MD, Pacific Crest Family Medicine
    • Shawn West MD, Edmonds Family Medicine
  • One osteopathic physician, submitted by the Washington Osteopathic Medical Association. Currently:
